Residency / Studieren in Neuseeland
Hi There,
Hi There,
I have been in New Zealand for the last 2 years to finish school here. I love the country and i would like to also study in New Zealand, but the study fees for an international student are quite expensive and i heard that if i would get a permanent residency then i would have to pay the same study fees as kiwi students. After my studies i would like to settle down in New Zealand. I wouldnt mind to do work & travel next year, this would give me enough time to apply for permanent residency.

It is true that you would pay less study fees as a NZ resident. However, you need to establish whether you have enough points to apply for residency in New Zealand.

To be perfectly honest, I don’t think that you will have enough points for applying for permanent residency under the skilled migrant category, so at this stage I do believe your best bet for immigration would be completing a NZ degree as international student after which you would be eligible for a 6 months job seeking visa.
What subject would you like to study? There are a number of professions that are seeked after in NZ which will make immigration easier.
Let’s keep talking!
